Jodi is a Partner and a dedicated clinical negligence solicitor with over 20 years of experience having qualified in 2001.
She was appointed in June 2021 as an AvMA (Action against Medical Accidents) Clinical Negligence Panel member and achieved the Law Society panel membership for which she has recently been re-accredited in February 2024. She is a dedicated supporter of AvMA.
Jodi has acted for many years as an expert clinical negligence solicitor. She has a successful practice as a specialist in birth negligence cases, about which she is passionate. She prides herself on providing a personal and sensitive service and using her wealth of experience to advocate for her clients who have tragically lost a baby or child and for families with children who have suffered life-changing brain injuries, particularly children with Cerebral Palsy and Erb’s palsy injuries. In her most recent settlement in late 2024, she achieved compensation capitalised at over £20,000,000 for her young client who had suffered cerebral palsy injuries at birth.
The majority of her case-load involves acting for families of cerebral palsy children. She has campaigned and written articles about reform of the Early Notification Scheme which is a Scheme run by NHSR for eligible babies who have suffered brain injuries.
Her peers recognise Jodi as someone adept at handling complex and sensitive matter with empathy and confidence. She is committed to ensuring her clients receive the best life-long care and support packages.
Jodi also has a demonstrated strong track record of success on a broad variety of complex cases, in particular, cancer misdiagnosis. She has achieved substantial settlements in cases involving gynaecological and obstetric injuries to mothers, delayed diagnosis of DVTs and pulmonary embolisms, failure to diagnose sepsis, delayed diagnosis of hydrocephalus, delayed diagnosis of Crohn’s Disease, A & E errors, and organ transplant surgery. In addition, she has enjoyed a long career of representing families at inquests.
The Legal 500 and Chambers directories recognises Jodi’s work for which she has earned recognition as a “Next Generation Partner” and “Up and Coming” respectively. In September 2021 Jodi was appointed a member of the SCIL (Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers) Executive Committee and is the co-ordinator of the Brain Injury Special Interest Group for APIL.
Following the Ockenden report on the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust maternity scandal, Jodi was interviewed by Channel 4 News to discuss her views on the report and to speak about her client’s negligent care under Shrewsbury—the impact of the substantial damages achieved for a cerebral palsy client featured on ITV. Jodi has also appeared on BBC News to speak on a successful inquest which led to changes in NHS Trust protocols relating to the diagnosis of DVTs. She also appeared on the BBC and ITV news to contribute commentary on her case involving a client who had received an infected transplanted kidney. Those cases also appeared in the national press.

- Successfully settled a claim for £700,000 after a delayed Crohn’s disease which caused significant and permanent damages to the client.
- £20 million settlement for a baby boy who suffered quadriplegic cerebral palsy as a result of hypoxia during birth.
- Achieved £1.5 million for an elderly client who had suffered a significant frontal lobe brain injury.
- Securing admissions of liability in multiple cerebral palsy cases resulting in interim damages payments of 7 figure sums and with cases likely to finally settle for in excess of £20 million.
- Successful settlement of a case involving a young man with an Erb’s Palsy injury and who received in excess of £500,000 for his pain and suffering, his past and future care and loss of earnings.
- Acted for a young client who received a contaminated kidney during organ transplant surgery. The client received over £200,000 for his pain and suffering, past and future care and loss of earnings.
