Estate administration with a value of £6million
Elspeth NeilsonTable of Contents
In this international probate case, we are acting for the executors in an estate administration with a value of £6million. The deceased was an artist and a family member of the founder of one of the UK’s largest independent grant-giving organisations. The deceased had dual UK/US nationality but renounced her US citizenship shortly before she died. Her estate comprises several residential and commercial properties and investments in the UK. She had disclaimed her interest in a large US-based trust shortly before her death and the implications of this are being addressed with HMRC. The deceased’s will created an 18-25 trust for the benefit of her two children, and due to their own wealth and dual nationality, robust strategic and taxation advice has been required.
