Man who suffers head injury in car crash receives compensation

A man who suffered a serious head injury as a passenger in a car accident has been awarded compensation to provide long-term rehabilitation for the injuries sustained. At the time of the accident, he was not wearing a seatbelt. Therefore, the insurer representing the driver argued that he was partly to blame for the severity of his injuries and sought a 25% reduction in his level of compensation to reflect this. This was eventually reduced to 15%. As a result of the accident, the man suffered a serious head and brain injury as well as a fractured neck and pelvis. He continues to require support from a therapy and case management team.

Woman secures compensation after hitting head in yachting accident

The woman was hit on the head by the metal railings of a yacht after the inflatable vessel she was a passenger on veered to close to the yacht. As the defendants admitted liability soon after negotiations began, a rehabilitation package was put in place alongside a case manager. The funds also enabled the woman to employ a personal assistant to assist her in continuing the various activities she was involved in before the accident.
