Settlement of £30,000 for cycling accident on a roundabout

Nicola Hall, a specialist bicycle accident lawyer,

recently represented a cyclist who suffered a high grade right acromioclavicular injury (the AC joint is a joint in the shoulder where two bones meet) requiring acute surgical stabilisation and a moderate adjustment disorder for a period of 3 months.

The cyclist was proceeding across a roundabout with the intention of going straight on. Suddenly and without notice a driver entered the roundabout and collided with the cyclist.

Whilst the facts seemed clear cut the driver failed to admit liability for the accident. Nicola instructed a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Consultant Psychiatrist to comment on the cyclist’s injuries and obtained a witness statement from an independent party.

Following negotiations, Nicola was able to secure a settlement of £30,000 for our client.
