Launched in 2001 Best Companies to Work For Lists and Best Companies Accreditation are now recognised as the standard in workplace engagement. The accreditation is awarded to organisations of all sizes after surveying staff, the results of which remain anonymous.

Staff are surveyed on eight key values of the organisation they work for including questions on the senior leadership team, career progression, teamwork, well-being and giving back to the community.

For the second year running, Osbornes achieved two out of three stars which means the firms is an outstanding place to work.

The firm scored highly across all values, and especially well in the areas of personal growth and career development and confidence in the senior leadership team. Our staff also highlighted that senior managers are visible and approachable. The firm was also praised for its retention rate, with many partners and senior leaders having been at he firm since being trainee solicitors.

In addition to the ranking, Best Companies have also released there annual recognition league tables. Osbornes appear in 3 tables and is now considered the second best mid-sized company to work for in London – up from 16th last year – and 24th in the UK, up from 83rd.

Osbornes is also fifth – up from 16th – on the list of the UK’s best mid-sized law firms.

Joanne Wescott, managing partner at Osbornes Law comments:

“We strive to make Osbornes Law a great place to work, but it’s always nice to receive third party endorsement,” she says.

“To have risen up the rankings so significantly is also a real boost. Osbornes has always put its people at its heart and continues to do so, with initiatives such as the Hertility Health benefit which was introduced this year and gives all our employees and their partners access to free fertility testing. Without our wonderful workforce, we would not be where we are and that’s why we’re committed to investing in them and making their health and wellbeing our priority.”

Osbornes has seen record growth and is now home to twenty-nine partners and over 170 members of staff. The firm already known for its low staff turnover and boasts a leadership team that includes:

  • 18 female partners.
  • 8 partners who trained at the firm.
  • 7 partners who have been at the firm for over 20 years; and
  • 22 partners who were promoted internally.

Mark Freedman, who trained at the firm, is Head of Family, and who celebrated his 30th anniversary at the firm in 2024 comments:

“Throughout my three decades at Osbornes,  I have seen how the firm has a talent for developing human beings rather than just lawyers. We have a headcount of 170, leading lawyers in several fields, but also a youthful, beating human heart at its core.”

    • "I was recommended Simon Nosworthy of Osbornes solicitors by my estate agent. At first I was reluctant as I had always previously used another solicitor for my conveyancing, but I did use Simon (assisted excellently by his paralegal Emma Healy) and I am very glad I did. The sale of my property was completed with the minimum fuss. You could count the telephone calls made on one hand and there was only one visit to the office. Simon is affable, professional and extremely efficient, hence the five stars. Thank you Simon and Emma."
