Se resuelve la reclamación por el atropello de un ciclista por un coche
Laura Swaine hace poco consiguió un acuerdo para la reclamación de un ciclista que fue atropellado por un coche en una rotonda. Laura consiguió una compensación de unas £75 000.
El coche chocó contra el ciclista y lo tiró de la bicicleta.
El ciclista, un jubilado, iba de camino a visitar a unos amigos. Entró en la rotonda e iba a tomar la tercera salida. El demandado entró en la rotonda sin mirar y chocó contra el ciclista. Este cayó al suelo y sufrió varias lesiones. Al principio, el demandado huyó de la escena del accidente pero lo encontró la policía más tarde.
Varias fracturas, hematomas crónicos y lesiones en los tendones
El ciclista sufrió varias fracturas en la pelvis, en las costillas del lado derecho y hematomas crónicos, además de lesiones en los tendones. También sufrió daños psicológicos. Debido a unas lesiones preexistentes, estar inmóvil durante unos meses afectó a su capacidad de curarse y de recuperarse con rapidez.
La policía declaró culpable al demandado
La aseguradora tardó un tiempo en admitir responsabilidad, declararon que su cliente culpaba al ciclista de cruzarse en su camino. La policía declaró culpable al demandado y le asignaron un curso de sensibilidad vial. Después la aseguradora admitió responsabilidad.
Rehabilitación y compensación
Mientras tanto, Laura organizó la rehabilitación intensiva física y para ayudarle a recuperarse. Como ya se ha mencionado, fue un proceso lento debido a problemas inflamatorios preexistentes. Laura consiguió informes de varios expertos médicos para obtener el cuadro completo de las lesiones y su pronóstico. Tras las negociaciones, se llegó a un acuerdo y el ciclista se alegró de poder terminar con el asunto.
