Osbornes Law are delighted to announce that the firm has been awarded ‘Law Firm Of The Year’ at the 2017/18 Modern Law Awards.
The awards, which are now in their fifth year, took place at The Lancaster Hotel in London on Thursday 18th January 2018. They celebrate entrepreneurship, market development, business management and best practice in the modern legal sector.
Osbornes were shortlisted in three categories, including Firm of the Year.
Mark Freedman, who is managing partner at Osbornes and an expert divorce lawyer, comments:
“We were very happy to have been shortlisted in the category of law firm of the year and arrived at the awards with no expectations. To have won the award is a superb achievement for all at Osbornes, especially when considering the judging panel is made up of twenty-two leading individuals in the legal industry, including the President of the Law Society”.
As Law Firm of The Year it was necessary for Osbornes to provide evidence of demonstrable development in business strategy, financial performance, diversity and training, employee development and corporate social responsibility projects.
Mark Freedman continues:
“Over the last twelve months Osbornes has done a huge amount of work in the communities local to our office in Camden and our new office in Hampstead. Some of the projects we are proud to have supported include Marie Curie, The Hampstead Community Centre, The Hampstead School of Art, Keats Community Library, The Camden Federation of Private Tenants and the Hampstead Arts Festival to name a few. We also increased our support of charities such as The London Cycling Campaign and the brain injury charity Headway East London. The firm also bucked the trend and retained all trainee solicitors who qualified in September 2017. This was in a year where the high percentage of trainees not retained by other firms was reported about in-depth in the legal press”.
Osbornes also promoted two associate solicitors to the partnership in summer 2017 taking the number of partners to eighteen members. Committed to diversity, ten of the firm’s partners are female.
The firm was also given the title of ‘Highly Commended Personal Injury Law Firm of the Year’ at the awards.
Stuart Kightley, who is joint senior partner at Osbornes and an expert serious injury lawyer, comments:
“Being awarded as highly commended is a great reward for all our personal injury lawyers and the team as a whole. The judges recognised our high level of client care and noted our specialist experience in medical negligence and catastrophic injury claims”.
